Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture Therapy is an ancient Chinese medicine dating back over 5,000 years.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture therapy works on the body’s specific channels (meridians) through which energy (chi) flows. While this energy, or chi, flows smoothly, no specific pain or disease will occur. There will be disease if the chi is deficient, excess in quantity, or not flowing freely. Hence, each meridian and each point have characteristics used to help diagnose and treat a patient. When very fine acupuncture needles are gently placed at specific points on the skin, energy is redirected to bring about a healing response.

When all the meridians are in good and proper working order, the body is balanced. Therefore, all of the physiological systems are functioning at optimum levels.

When we get sick, it is a sign that the body has somehow become out of balance, and that’s when we develop colds and flu and more severe diseases like diabetes, arthritis, and cancer. Acupuncture can help the body heal itself and restore balance, good health, and quality of life.

Acupuncture Therapy Can Help

The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as an effective treatment for more than 35 common illnesses.

In addition, acupuncture therapy is known to:

  • Normalize physiological functions
  • Stimulate the immune system
  • Relieve drug and alcohol withdrawal symptoms
  • Aid in behavior modifications such as weight loss and smoking cessation.
  • Reduce tension, stress, and depression

There are many illnesses, ailments, and “disharmonies” that can be resolved using acupuncture therapy alone, as well as using it in conjunction with Western medicine.
