“The truth is that stress doesn’t come from your boss, your kids, your spouse, traffic jams, health challenges, or other circumstances. It comes from your thoughts about your circumstances.”―Andrew Bernstein

Mindful Movement
with Mike Thomas
This class is a gentle form of stress reduction that uses mindfulness and is particularly helpful from a trauma-informed perspective because it avoids sitting still, which can re-aggravate old traumas if one unconsciously gets the sense that they are “not allowed to move.”
Thomas uses a medley of mindful movements such as Tension/Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®️), Tai Chi, breathwork, Yoga, and various fitness exercises. This allows the body to deepen awareness, relaxation, flexibility, strength, and resilience—supporting the capacity to learn, grow, develop competence and mastery, and direct your bodily state with more choice and intentionality.
