This small group will run for 4 consecutive weeks and will blend mindfulness, yoga, and creative and expressive movement to support healing, growth and transformation. Dance/movement therapy (DMT) is a psychotherapeutic approach that offers a unique and comprehensive way to foster healing and growth. Consistent with empirical evidence that mind, body and spirit are inter-related, DMT engages creative processes in which movement is used for self-expression, to generate personal insight and awareness, and to support changes in behavior. Based in the understanding that individuals not only survive but thrive when joined in community, this Dance 2 Heal group blends mindfulness, yoga, and creative and expressive movement to support healing, growth and transformation. Jill offers a safe and nonjudgmental atmosphere to explore what it means to be genuinely who you are within the context of community. Starting from a place of safety in your own body, this group will use movement as a means for wholehearted expression and as a conduit to connect more fully and openly with yourself and others. From this place of acceptance, these relationships can be explored and re-evaluated. Group size will be limited.
